WELCOME TO THE NIGHTMARE

We want to give you a warmblooded congratulations on being chosen as one of our unholy performers for this year’s Buzzards & Bees.

When we all collectively had a nightmare about creating Buzzards & Bees, our vision was to make something that could bring Provo together into one spooky weekend of events. Buzzards & Bees will be bloodier and better this year with over 80+ performers at 11 venues, but we cannot bring this vision to life without your help. Please reach out to us for any promotional material you may need to enchant your fans to attend—we are always happy to lend a severed hand.

HOW IT ALL WORKS

  • Dress Up!

We do expect all bands to dress up. It’s part of the magic! Think classic Halloween! Please be mindful of socially conscious costumes. 🧛‍♀️🧟‍♂️👻 💀

  • Stage Manager

Each venue will have a stage manager to help you prepare for your set. They will be your first source of assistance and information regarding the festival. Please keep an eye out for an email from your stage manager so they can introduce themselves.

  • Sound Engineer

In addition to your stage manager, the sound engineer at your venue will ensure you have a great experience. Make sure to thank them and make yourself available to provide them with the information they need to help you sound your best.

  • Set Time

All bands play on October 19th. Sets are 30 minutes long, and there is a 20 minute change over between most of the venues. Make sure you have a plan to move your stuff in and out in an efficient manner!

  • Venue

All of our locations are awesome and we hope you make the most of your experience at the festival. Remember to tell your fans which venue you’ll be playing at!

  • Payment

It is very important to us as Spooky Scary People that we pay the performing artists. We base this amount on the band’s ticket sales, how many fans are at your show, and how nice you are to your sound engineer/stage manager 😉

  • Selling Tickets - Online

Each band has a unique code that fans can use to at check-out.

If you can't deliver physical tickets, we recommend that send them to 24tix and use your code. Reach out to Buzzardsandbees@gmail.com if you don't have your code.

  • Selling Tickets - Physical

You should have received physical tickets in the mail. If you need more, or did not get your tickets, contact Paul Nahrwold at 801-560-6392.

Please inform everyone who purchases a ticket from you that they must come to Goth Prom at Velour on the 20th, OR The Gem Studio (9 N University Ave, Provo) on the 21st, to exchange it for a wristband. They should not go straight to your venue.

  • Band Photos

If you want your spooky photo featured on the website, upload it to https://www.dropbox.com/request/p0bbTXVREG46tL2ttc6F

The key to success with your photos will be high-contrast clothing and/or makeup

Band Check-in

Clark Clifford - 20191026-Buzzards&Bees_Clifford_36.jpg

To reduce stress on the day of the festival, band check-in will happen during Goth Prom on Oct. 18th at Mozz (145 N University Ave) from 8-midnight. In the ticket packet we sent you, there are instructions for checkin. Here they are for reference:

Have at least one person from your band:

  1. Bring ALL unused pre-sale tickets

  2. Bring ALL funds from sold tickets. $25 per ticket (Cash or Venmo)

  3. Fill out the check-in form with the most up-to-date information

At check-in, you’ll be able to pick up ‘artist wristbands’ for each member of your band so you can enjoy the rest of the festival. If a representative is not able to make it on this night, especially if you are out of the Utah/SLC county area, please contact Paul Nahrwold before October 18th at 801-560-6392 to arrange your check-in.

*Remember! If you have fans buying tickets on the 21st they must purchase them at The Gem Studio (9 N University Ave, Provo). Remind them to give us your band name so we can attribute that to your total sales.
